Job Title: Head of Women and Girls’ Football

Role Overview:
Wrexham AFC is recruiting a Head of Women and Girls’ Football to drive forward its ambitions to grow the women’s game and build a successful, forward-thinking programme. The role will shape and lead the long-term strategy for women and girls’ football at the club and play a key part in influencing the future of the game across Wales and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the creation and implementation of a long-term strategy for the women and girls’ football programme.
Oversee all operational and performance elements, including talent recruitment, development, and player pathway design.
Collaborate with senior coaching staff to deliver high-performance standards and integrated team strategy.
Establish and manage a robust monitoring and review process to evaluate success against strategic goals.
Represent the club at external events, in the media, and with key governing bodies.
Manage staff within the women’s football structure and lead the development of the soon-to-be-established Women’s Technical Board.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders, sponsors, regulatory bodies and the wider football community.
Support the commercial and communications teams in growing visibility and support for the programme.
Ensure compliance with safeguarding, EDI, and health & safety policies.
Candidate Profile:
UEFA A Licence holder.
Proven experience leading and delivering football development strategies.
Knowledge of the women’s football landscape in Wales and England.
Experience in high-level talent identification and recruitment.
Track record of managing budgets and delivering strategic projects.
Strong people management and leadership capabilities.
Desirable:
Welsh language skills (Hyfedredd yn y Gymraeg yn fantais).
Background in contract negotiation, player transfers, or sponsorship management.
Personal Qualities:
Inspirational leader with a passion for women’s football.
Organised, strategic and analytical thinker.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
