REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT OFFICER: WALES TABLE TENNIS

About the Role

A rewarding opportunity to play a pivotal role in growing grassroots sport in Wales. Table Tennis Wales is seeking a motivated and well-organised Regional Development Officer to help grow the game across Mid Wales.

Working as part of a dynamic Development team, the Regional Development Officer will support clubs, build partnerships, and create inclusive participation opportunities in communities across the region. This is a flexible, home-based role with regular travel throughout Mid Wales, ideal for a proactive professional passionate about sport-for-all.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving forward Table Tennis Wales’ mission to develop the sport through local engagement, sustainable delivery models, and increased participation. This includes working closely with community groups, schools, volunteers, leisure providers, and other local partners to help embed table tennis opportunities across a range of settings.

This role offers a chance to make a real difference—developing relationships, supporting clubs, and expanding the reach of table tennis in both traditional and non-traditional spaces.

Essential Criteria

  • Proven ability to work independently, plan and manage projects effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise work.

  • A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in community sport.

  • Willingness and ability to travel across Mid Wales.

  • Knowledge or experience in sport development, particularly at a community level.

Application Details

  • Position: Mid Wales Regional Development Officer

  • Salary: £24,000 pro rata

  • Hours: 18.5 hours per week

  • Contract: 2-year fixed term (renewal subject to funding)

  • Location: Home-based with travel across Mid Wales

  • Reports to: Head of Participation
