Role Overview:

Reporting into the Strategy, Performance & Operations team, the Operations Manager will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the Cricket Regulator. You’ll lead daily operations, manage support teams, develop policies, and help track progress against key strategic and compliance targets. This is a pivotal leadership role for someone who thrives in a dynamic, purpose-led environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate day-to-day operational activity across the Cricket Regulator, working closely with team leads and department managers.

  • Oversee workflows including budget planning, logistics, training coordination, policy implementation, scheduling, and stakeholder communications.

  • Line manage the Operations function, including administrative and triage staff.

  • Develop and improve operational systems and processes to enhance efficiency, including standard operating procedures and performance monitoring frameworks.

  • Support business planning cycles, including procurement, forecasting, and contractor evaluation.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and support teams in corrective action planning.

  • Help ensure compliance with internal targets and external regulatory standards, such as the CPSU Safeguarding Audit and ICEC recommendations.

  • Manage external stakeholder relationships and ensure consistent engagement across the ECB, PCA, and regulatory bodies.

  • Maintain the Cricket Regulator’s internal Case Management System and support alignment across digital tools.

  • Lead internal communications for the department, including website management and content updates.

Candidate Profile:

You Will Have:

  • Proven experience leading operations or administrative teams, ideally across hybrid or multi-location environments.

  • A strong track record managing concurrent workstreams, priorities, and delivery schedules.

  • High attention to detail, strong time management, and excellent organisational skills.

  • Demonstrated project coordination experience from planning to execution.

  • Skilled at developing, documenting, and implementing operational processes.

  • Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills across all levels.

  • Sound knowledge of financial planning, procurement, and budget forecasting.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Experience preparing reports and dashboards for senior leadership.

ABOUT CRICKET REGULATOR:

Established in December 2023, the Cricket Regulator is a ring-fenced executive body within the ECB, focused on oversight and enforcement in key areas including:

  • Anti-Corruption

  • Anti-Discrimination

  • Anti-Doping

  • Safeguarding

  • General Misconduct

  • Agent Regulation

Its purpose is to operate independently and uphold best practices in monitoring, compliance, investigations, and prosecutions. The Regulator also ensures compliance with ICC global standards and contributes to protecting the integrity of cricket in England and Wales.
