ROLE OVERVIEW:
With over 160 years of history, Crystal Palace FC is a Premier League club renowned for its passionate fanbase and vibrant culture. Based across Selhurst Park Stadium, a London office, and the Training Ground/Academy, the club continues to grow both on and off the pitch.
The Content Lead will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary creative team, developing strategy and output for Palace TV, web/app, and social media channels. Working closely with senior leaders, this role will ensure content reflects the club’s values while maximising opportunities in Premier League and European football.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver the club’s video and social media content strategy across platforms (Palace TV, social media, web, app).
Lead, manage, and mentor the videography and social media teams, including Senior Videographer and Senior Social Media Manager.
Build a content calendar/roadmap to align storytelling with matchdays, player signings, community initiatives, and marketing campaigns.
Act as the key point of contact for content planning across Videography and Social Media teams.
Oversee production and launch of major content opportunities, including feature videos and campaign activations.
Ensure timely and effective content delivery on matchdays, coordinating videographers and social leads.
Deliver best-in-class content, staying ahead of trends while balancing business-as-usual sports content.
Collaborate with internal departments (including the football department) to deliver campaigns that meet business needs.
Package content opportunities to support commercial partnerships and sponsorships.
Approve major content pieces, ensuring consistency of tone, style, and brand identity.
Respond quickly to real-time events with fresh, creative content.
Monitor performance using analytics and insights to inform future content strategy, producing regular reports.
Manage team workflows and creative pipelines to maintain high standards and efficiency.
Uphold and promote the club’s Health & Safety, Safeguarding, and Equality policies.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Proven experience in content creation, digital marketing, or media production, ideally in sport.
Strong background in social media management and/or video production.
Experience leading creative teams and managing workflows.
Excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, reactive environment, especially during live events/matchdays.
Knowledge of current digital trends, audience behaviours, and platform best practices.
Passion for sport and creative storytelling.
