Job Title: Digital Football Journalist

Role Overview:

Sky Sports is looking to appoint a Digital Football Journalist to create and co-ordinate football content across digital platforms including SkySports.com and the Sky Sports mobile apps. This position plays a key role in ensuring Sky remains the go-to digital destination for football fans, delivering timely, engaging and editorially sound coverage across news, live blogs, features, and video.

The role involves weekend, evening, and occasional overnight shifts to support live match coverage and breaking news.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and deliver dynamic football news content and matchday coverage.

• Produce and edit live blogs, interviews, match reports and in-depth features.

• Collaborate with video and social teams to support editorial and commercial goals.

• Maintain strong SEO practice across all content.

• Contribute to editorial planning, indexing and decision-making.

• Ensure alignment across Sky Sports platforms and departments.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Deep knowledge of football and a proven track record in digital sports journalism.

• Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills under pressure.

• Proficient in multimedia production with a solid understanding of digital platforms.

• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

• Confident in fast-paced newsroom environments and able to work flexible hours.
