SENIOR MARKETING EXECUTIVE: DEFY

About the Role

DEFY is seeking a driven and creative Senior Marketing Executive to help shape and grow a bold, modern brand at the intersection of elite sport and global culture. This wide-ranging role is ideal for a proactive and passionate marketing professional eager to make a genuine impact across digital, PR, events and brand strategy.

The successful candidate will lead day-to-day marketing activity while evolving DEFY’s brand presence, thought leadership and internal communications. With autonomy from the outset, this role offers the chance to help define the voice and visibility of a company that’s challenging the traditional athlete agency model.

Working across a global roster of athletes in football, golf and tennis, the Senior Marketing Executive will play a key role in delivering culturally relevant campaigns, content and events that elevate both the DEFY brand and its talent.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Digital

  • Develop and manage a proactive marketing plan to ensure brand visibility and cultural relevance.

  • Lead content calendars across Instagram, LinkedIn, email and other platforms.

  • Coordinate with creative and athlete teams to produce compelling digital and social content.

  • Track performance and analytics, delivering actionable insights to optimise campaigns.

Brand Strategy & Growth

  • Serve as the brand guardian, ensuring alignment with DEFY’s disruptive and modern identity.

  • Manage internal brand assets including decks, templates, credentials and messaging.

  • Maintain brand consistency across all touchpoints.

  • Support in developing positioning and thought leadership content to establish DEFY’s voice in the industry.

PR & Communications

  • Oversee PR calendars and identify media opportunities around campaigns and brand milestones.

  • Cultivate media relationships across sport, fashion, business and culture.

  • Draft and distribute press releases, newsletters, and thought pieces.

  • Contribute to brand storytelling through founder features and opinion content.

Brand Partnerships

  • Support planning and delivery of campaigns in collaboration with brand partners and athletes.

  • Coordinate marketing deliverables to meet partnership objectives.

  • Research trends and identify new brand collaboration opportunities.

Events & Planning

  • Plan and execute events on behalf of DEFY and its partners, handling logistics, guest management and coordination.

  • Maintain a calendar of brand events and seek new opportunities to elevate brand presence.

  • Work cross-functionally to ensure events are aligned with brand identity and objectives.

Essential Criteria

  • 2–4 years’ experience in marketing, PR, content or brand — ideally within sport, fashion, music or media.

  • Deep interest in sport, with an understanding of its intersection with culture, fashion, and entertainment.

  • Confident writer and communicator with a strong sense of brand tone and voice.

  • Skilled at both strategic planning and hands-on execution.

  • Highly motivated, curious, and adaptable with a proactive, “get-it-done” mindset.

  • Familiarity with platforms such as GQ Sports, Highsnobiety, Hypebeast, Complex and similar.
